004: recently i've been.

Burlesque, I love my London, Choccywoccydoodah - not even kidding, faturdays, woops, Westminster, BINTM on Carnaby Street, Shoreditch sun, the first mention of fashion, discovering my business cards had been hiding at home for god knows how long, Mayfair Maddox, wearing some clothes.

bourjois boutique.

Starting LFW as I mean to go on (HI FREEBIES) and ambling around Shoreditch for an appropriate eatery, I just so happened to pass the Beach Blanket Babylon - the mouth full of a bar that's playing host to Bourjois' bloggers slash anyone's boutique. In conjunction with the fashion goings-on of central LDN, Bourjois have set up camp in an east London bar to offer you 65% off all products, freebie hair styling, manicures and make-overs. If you're in the area, it's worth a gandz. You might even see a cee-leb - Jameela Jamil was filming for T4 t'other day so if you're into the whole celeb-spotting thing, scout it out.

Day one of Fashion Week is done - I am all aboard the Team Notion bandwagon so life is suitably cray cray. I shall try my utmost to document the week's fashion-y frolics as best I can, on here but I ain't making any promises.<>

Twitter (@helenturnblad) will be the best place to have a nose at what I'm actually doing.
HAPPY FASHION WEEK !

003: recently i've been..

Receiving presents in the post, like someone important.

<333-ing life in London, x3.

Discovering that a 5£ primark wig looks better than my real life hair.

Making sweet love and the best jokes to and with this girl.

Obligatory dicking around in the snow, in fancy dress, as you do.

Collating my life for next week. Its LFW didja know..

002: recently i've been..

Briefly retreating to the countryside.
Travelling in style.
Restoring normality by returning to London to career / job / house / life hunt.
Educating myself on the world's conflicts.
Hangover cure in red cups.
Swooning / devouring / appreciating.
Receiving LFW show ticket confirmations.
Feeling SS12 spendy.
Rating h&m's SS12 display.
It's been a good'un.

001: recently I've been..

Oh hi there unannounced hiatus. What can I say, drunk-ing and dancing have been higher up on my agenda than ferociously typing away to tell you about all the clothes I want but can't afford. Due to a losing combination of depleted funds and only collar and jumper (winning) combos within my creative grasp, my recent fash game needs to sort its life out. Hence, the lack of blogging. What is a fashion blogger without a fashion sense? A vacant one. Anyway, back for a quickie.

With London Fashion Week within frighteningly close touching distance, a best friend in tow and excruciatingly exciting prospects for the month of February, I say no more other than - it's going to be a friggan good one.

What have I been doing with all this FREE time? In between floating around London in all my freelancer glory I have gotten acquainted with my new ends some more and fallen a little bit more in love (read: become even more obssesed. I joke it is love of the truest sort).

Less fashion, more life :

Sampling the cuisines of some tasty eateries.

Discovering the joys of paying £10 plus for a Martini when you totally meant a Mojito.
Losing my 'Photo a Day' challenge V plates.
Still rocking the bowler hat.
Prepping for fashion week i.e. commencing the wardrobe overhaul. First step - mental mood board making.

pastures new.

Photo: my own

My life as a travelling gypsy comes to a welcomed stop tomorrow. Can I get a rapturous woop woop? After months of yo-yo-ing, to and from London for fashion-y related happenings, I am finally turning over that shiny new leaf. How, you ask:

IMMA MOVE TO LONDON AND LIVE THE FASHION JOURNO DREAM.

The first part is certain. The latter, well let's just say it ain't as easy as that. I have no set plan bar whispers of that and promises of this but I leave with the intention of putting my finger in every sweet-tasting pie.

My fan girl obsession for the capital will likely to develop into an unadulterated passion for the place. I can hear screams of anguish echoing from and throughout my various friendship groups. I promise not to subscribe to selling out.

I hope to bring you few horror stories of the fashion intern curse and an abundance of free bar, fashion frolics.

I just gotta get through moving from one end of the country to the other via a three hour, probably packed train with my worldly goods, namely, my wardrobe, squeezed into a mini suitcase.

Here's to starts fresh. Wish me luck.

white blank page.

I have well and truly snapped back to reality, having returned to the North-Eastern, countryside views. Can I get a boo hoo?

The aim was to inject some much needed inspiration into my fashion life - a walk down Oxford St. satisfied that desire but what I have returned with is an even stronger drive to succeed - may this be in fashion or business (as if but you never know). I am craving the London lifestyle - work hard, play hard even more so than before which I didn't think was possible. Without a doubt, I am a huge London fan girl but having had the best few days, I have ever had there (ok, discount fashion week), witnessing said lifestyle, I am keen to sign my life up to that club.

What lies ahead is an immensely exciting few months which I could not be more buzzed about: I am interning with Notion, come November (big kudos to Seb for this) and have secured a place to do an NCTJ, (journo qualification) in Wimbledon, come March. The ball has started to roll, in the right direction.

I also feel its about high time that this prize possession of mine made its next baby step. I am not talking business plans and hiring teams but I plan to finally make that overhaul happen with the helping hand of a few willing, skilled mates. Expect a lorra changes around here.

The fashion journo dream may not be so much a pipe one.

Can I get a woop woop?

big day on campus.

Probably the biggest one of my life thus far. I'm chatting about graduating, duh. In a word - surreal, for real.

Spazzed about what to wear for the last month. After profusely refusing to go all academic (boring), I was all aboard that bandwagon, for one day only. In the end, I opted for a classic shirt and skirt ensemble. Literally thrown together, by my sister, in a half an hour skitz round Newcastle, the day before. Story of my life.

So here it is, in all its (too much) photographic glory.
Shirt & shoes: NEXT, Skirt & bag: TOPSHOP, Earrings: UO

What happens now? Who knows. Time will tell. The plan is London to write for anyone who'll have me. Let's see what happens ehy ehy.

A few of you have commented saying you're experiencing this very thing over the next couple weeks, some advice; follow the crowd (style wise) and bloody enjoy it, its over too quickly.

the bitter sweet taste of freedom.

My apologies for the lax blog ting, this week has been hectic beyond words.

The reasons being:

I am done with uni forever. After a final week of twenty hour stints glued to a computer screen, eating double my bodyweight in the contents of campus' vending machines I am well and truly done doe.

To celebrate we went to the races. I won actual money.

My momma is admist a big move, even further into the depths of the Northumberland countryside.

I have also worked all weekend which equals no free timey thus, no posty post.

The realisation of impending graduation is slowly killing me inside. What do people do with their lives beyond this point? The nine five grind has zero appeal. I wanna be a student on a lemonade budget with a champagne lifestyle forever.

Here is an asos dress I chatted about a few weeks ago. It looks better styled up to the nines but outfit posts are long and I'm tired. This girl looks pretty hot in it too.

Mesh dress: asos

Soon to be back on it, pinky promises.
