obligatory.

tba does ss12, that is all...
c/o

Literally that is all; I am lacking the capacity (and creativity) to type anything of remote humor and, or interest.

Excuse the fashion week / house hunting / life sorting induced hiatus.

to be adored aw11.

With an overt obsession for all things tba, the arrival of the latest collection is always an eagerly anticipated one. It is standard procedure that I share its highlights with you lovely lot.

Binbin (creative director and founder) has only gone and done it again; a truly covetable collection that'll leave you wishing for every single piece.
Told you so. Playing into the hands of the fetish trend, Binbin has dared to brave shorter hem-lines and actual flesh flashing sheers (along with modest yet, suggestive shoulder panels) - all a bit 'ooh la la sexy' for the conventionally pretty girl label. Nonetheless, it is a risk that's paid off. The collection resonates its curator's original aesthetic - Sixties fun fused with Edwardian sophistication whilst introducing an element of 20th Century dressing. Despite this refreshing update, the label's quirky elegance resounds cohesively.

Not about to get all artsy, literally, I couldn't if I tried but the most appealing aspect? The simplicity and purity of the set - the clothes own it. Hats off to her and the team.

The collection will be available to buy online and in stores very soon.

The Lumen fund starts now.

whistle for a hottie.

Chung of course.

Celebrating the hundreth year anniversary of Italian sportswear brand Superga, Alexa joins in the celebrations as the chosen face and feet of the new ad campaign. And why? To increase the brand's presence in the UK and who better to represent the UK's fashion scene than the one and only. Fair play.

Remember this? Was all in aid of this baby..

Could she get any lusher? Nahhh.

The brand has sixty stockists in the UK, specialising in vulcanised pumps and include Manchester's Oi Polloi and Rift Shoes, Chiswick, West London. These are going on the wish list.

Slightly off-topic but all important nontheless; A big up to The MIDWEEK MIXTAPE massive. Representin'. The comedic duo, Ger and Vinay provide your weekly fix of musical musings and general, geuninely laughable banter, every Wednesday 4 - 5pm. Radio One eat yo heart out.

Tune in now. QUICK. GO. Its the last chance for a while.

Reality is sorta sinking in. I literally have a matter of weeks left at uni. I am not too fussed about it to be honest.

I have beautiful things like this in my life so all is sweet as a nut.

Didn't want to distract from the beauty of this sooo here it is - the dress I have banged on about since forever, in all its prettiful glory.

current cravings.

Thanks to Sarah, I managed to feast my eyes on this lovely lot. Shows how out of the loop I have been, I didn't have a clue.

Believe me if I had the means, every single piece would be mine today.

asos.com

I may just have tickets to London Fashion Week on the Friday when it all kicks off, the first (or second, I cannit decide on my favourite) would be the perfect piece. A girl can dream.

Ohh and by the way, I deleted about thirty comments the other day, totally by accident so apologies.

match made in heaven.

Alexa Chung plus tba S/S '11.

What else?
Photo: http://ilovetba.com/shop/index.php/blog/alexa_wears_tba/

Any one, any one at all know when this lovely piece will be at my disposal? A few items have creeped onto the urban outfitters website but no sign of this pretty little lot.

Apologies are due again for me being so slack with this man. I don't have an excuse this time. It has been pure laziness and making the most of my last year of uni. I have literally a matter of weeks left.

The good news; it's reading week next week so I am going to well an truly 'get back on it'.

it must be love.

I have been awaiting this literally heavenly moment a while now and oh hello you.

Thanks to Jade, my full attention has been brought to what can only be described as the BEAUTIFUL S/S '11 lookbook of my favourite. tba of course.

Those sherbet-y colours, touches of metallic gold, the adorable collars, the delicate lace detailing, etc etc.

In no particular order I give you...

tba SS11

I'm a fan of the pairing of the desert boots and socks combo.

I WANT YOU ALL.

When are you going to be in the shops please?

christmas wishes.

I'm not huge on the whole laborious, over-rated affair that the festive season embodies itself as but the one thing I do still conform to is compiling a 'if I had all of you, I would be a very happy girl' list.

All I want for Christmas is all of you, pretty please. If you ask me. I reckon its pretty reasonable. Mammy may beg to differ.

ASOS, Burberry, tba, Olympus Pen, Chanel, Topshop, O&O

Cheers Santy baby.Throw in a trip to New York if you fancy.

copycat.

Oh dear, oh dear.

My beloved tba has fallen sin to TOPSHOP's lack of creative imagination.
It has well and truly been caught in its copycat trap.

To be honest I see it as a recognition of BinBin's beautiful creations ; a flattery. In fact, I am suprised it has taken this long for someone to brave ripping-off her adorable designs.

I have never ever been a fan of those snidey features in chatty magazines that go a bit like; wow get so-and-so's designer look from New Look / Peacocks / mix of shitty, cheap sweatshops. No, you won't look like Alexa Chung if you buy every item on this page, nor will you look like Fearne Cotton next week or anyone you ever see on these pages, for that matter. Learn this please.

Yes TOPSHOP is by no means cheap and shitty (the sweatshop debate is one of great controversy); it is the holy grail of the high street - there's no shying away from it. Nice try Philip Green but it's not the same is it really? Also, labelling it 'exclusive' does not make it anymore designer. No thanks. I prefer the real deal.

Here's the culprit....

Does not equal this or this.

a/winter wish slash hit list.

I've decided to do a seasonal hit list and make it a regular feature. I'm currently racking my brains on ways to improve my blog. I think having 3-4 regular features a month is the starting point as I think it's the best way to maintain reader interest as it facilitates consistency. Personally, I think that's what fashion blogging is all about; finding your niche and running with it. So watch this space.

Back onto this post - yes I'm very aware we are in the full throes of a/w so a bit behind on that front but here it is anyway. A wish list in that I can only dream in owning the entirety of it but a hit list in that each item is an absolute lust have.

In no particular order...

Bare in mind this is not an exhaustive list- I don't think any girl's could ever possibly be described as that.
Call it what you will: wish list, hit list, the bare essentials etc etc.

I'm off to Bristol tonight for the week on a crash course come privaleged behind the scenes insider into the world of journalism.

Will keep you posted.

ilovetba.

Okokok.

This is now the third post in the last month or so about my secret fetish tba, although its not really a secret.

You wouldn't be blamed for thinking tba is a French descent but in actual fact it launched and is based in our very own capital city, the big LDN.

Designer Binbin McNiven, a Brighton university graduate with a enviable designer history to her name including the late Alexander McQueen, she founded and debuted tba only last year with a stellar A/W '09 collection. Ever since, the label's signature look has evolved; playful meets sophistication. Equating to timeless, luxurious, perfection.

The label's aesthetic is increasingly accumulating a desirable reputation; accredited to its sixties play time working in perfect harmony with the touch of Edwardian sophistication.
The label's template of understated elegance is resounded through the entirety of the A/W '10 offerings.

The collection takes its inspiration from two feminist characters in the controversial (it was banned in native Czechoslovakia and director Vera Chytilová was forbidden to work until 1975), dadaist, film; Sedmikrasky ("Daisies") from the sixties.

In a nutshell, the film sees the girls deciding that, since the world is spoiled, they will be spoiled too. Cue the girls embarking on a quest of rebellion against the degenerate, decayed and oppressive society in which they live.

The direct inspiration for the collection contemplates how they might have dressed to attend an Edwardian children’s tea party.

Whimsical, pompoms prettify dresses and blouses, reflecting the childish, exuberant mantra of the girls.

Monchrome complements the chosen colour palette of carmel silk, velvet in the warmest of hues- burnt orange along with emerald and midnight blue. Colours and fabrics that all exude luxurious winter.

Tba's ladylike silk dresses and separates in bold blocks of colour are each finished with intricate final touches like the handmade reuleaux look collars on the velvet smocks or gold trim adornments on the mesh pom-pom dresses.

It’s not all sugar and spice and everything nice, however, as there are also tougher-looking, 'more showy' pieces such as the leather, pleated shorts in tan and a mushroom print silk, oversized tux jacket to match the pintuck dress and skirt of the same pattern.

The whole label has an antique yet, modern feel to it. This is illustrated in each of the A/W '10 pieces.

A lasting quality that transcends seasonal trends.

It is date night, it is innocent sweetheart, it is teenage rebel, it is spoilt princess, it is divine.

So aptly named; to be adored (by everyone), you certainly are.
