christmas for want all i.

Can't call meself a real fashion blogger without a token, festive wish list. By no means, comprehensive. Don't even get me started on make-up and other life essentials.
All: TOPSHOP -the multi glitter clutch which is UO.

Shiny, pretty things rule my world. Even more so, those curated by Mr. Green's designer elves.

A few other things that I'd quite like:
- Longer hair
- A blog branding designer
- A proper fashion job

If you can help with any of the above, do get in touch.

Excuse the lack of fashion, darling, as of late. I have can't remember the last garment / accessory I even bought; a champagne lifestyle on the lemonade budget of an aspiring fashion journo doesn't seem to be possible.
Anyone wanna send me a prezzie? Feel free.

Am off to catch up on the BFAs and reminisce sweet sweet memories of last year's fashion-fuelled frolics.

velvet crush.

Been meaning to post this for long ting but real life got in the way / I rarely spend my days out of my pyjamas.

A few footnotes:
why is it impossible to take decent lit photos post 4pm?
this is the only suitable place to take such shit lit photos in my house so deal with half a face / half an outfit.
I have misplaced my trustee bowler and henceforth apologise for exposing you to my crying out for a hair cut mop.

INTRODUCING:
Sister Jane.

Eh, how did I not know about this beaut of brand until now? It remains one of life's many mysteries. The would-be love child of tba and pins&needles is the only description for this lady-like label. Sneaking under my unsuspecting radar, through chance, thanks to a blogging favourite you may already follow, I am now coveting thee whole lookbook archive, (see website 'collections').

A brand that was founded in Madrid, Spain, it has recently extended its fan base to, well, the entire world with the power of the internet and a début collab with ASOS. Feminine rebellion resounds through the marrying of genius, textural combinations (oh hi there, lace and sequins), forming the premise to said 'mini collection'. Pictures speak a thousand words so this is what I'm talking about..
via asos.com

Light-as-air blouses and dresses, accessorized with diamanté detailed, peter pan collars. I have nothing but love. The price range is so friggan reasonable too.

Having read up on the brand, it surfaces that they even have a concession in TOPSHOP's Oxford Street store. This 'mini collection' prides itself on pretty prints and the cutest ribbon details which you can also purchase from the site here.

I am amazed I wasn't told about this sooner.

Whaddya'll think?

London keeps on calling; am jumping on a train there tonight for a week of behind-the-scenes at The Times HQ, SS12 press days, promising career prospects and a boat load of cheap laughs. Oh, and also that event Marie Claire are putting on, on Wednesday night. Will anyone be joining me or will I be a totes bill no mates?

Can't wait. Shall update as and when.

NEW IN:
texture treats.

Velvet, wool, sequins and sparkles; I want to wear them all, ALL THE TIME

I have been more than a little bit norty in these past couple of weeks i.e. spending money I should be saving, on things I couldn't physically resist.

First up, I've done it; found the perfect LBD come LVD, killing two birds with one stone. I deserve a pat on the back. Clutching desperately onto the fact that technically, my student life ain't over yet (gap yah, y'know), I got this for a steal in their 20% off, student, weekend event, a while ago now; I ain't prepared to let that little luxury slip through my grasp, anytime soon. But look, its nice a pretty and velevet-y and sparkle-y. The perfect party dress, just need me some invites.
Velvet, glitter spot, skater dress: Topshop

Forever 21 are my latest proud pleasure. It is ridiculous cheap with stellar offerings. My first impression initiated thoughts of a budget UO store without the pretentious kooky bric-a-brac. Do we agree? It has taken Newcastle too long to introduce one of those to its streets, how long do we reckon it is before it gets its own F21? Another reason to move to London.
Sequin skirt: F21

Finally, h&m how I love thee. Top form they are. Countless times I have walked in and grabbed a staple that I had been longing for, to no avail. They have come up trumps too many times this season, I am somewhat anticipating the downfall. This is a cheaper and toastier version of that TOPSHOP knit that I had my literal heart set on. I bought this from h&m on Camden High St. so obvz I love it even more.
Fluffy knit: h&m

That's my lot for a while.

Another day trip to London beckons, I can't keep away.

NEW IN:
AW11 staples.

A few eee-sentials that I have acquired over the past week or so. I love the feeling of having new things. Oh how materialistic and shallow of me. I prefer to call it easily pleased.

I couldn't possibly post today without acknowledging the death of a truly, awe-inspiring man.

LFW: the outfits.

I know you have all been sitting patiently, with bated breath, during my fashion week hiatus, for this very moment. What the foe did I wear? Three shirts and two kinds of leather bottoms, pretty much.

ONE. New Look Shirt, h&m, leather skirt.
TWO. Primark, sheer, snakeskin print shirt, h&m, leather skirt.
THREE & FOUR. Shirt, as above, h&m sheer shirt, Topshop, leather leggings.

It's a wrap guys; the LFW party is officially over.

I should probably go find out what's been going on in the real world.

the calm before the storm.

I snapped these earlier today when I was parading down my hall way like the wannabe catwalk model that I am, helplessly putting together my LFW wardrobe. I received confirmation of my press pass late Friday night which spurred me on to get my ass in gear. I think I am halfway there. Still, if anyone fancies sponsoring my appearances at fashion week- drop me an email. Philip Green, non? Long shot.
Coat and skinny trousers: TOPSHOP, Shirt and ring: h&m, Vans

Nails inspired by Stevie.

I will be there with bells on from Sunday (day 3) until the grand finale on Wednesday (day 6). Who will be there? Any recommendations? I am beyond overwhelmed at all the goings-on. Areet fashion week virgin.

new kindof collar.

My rather outward obsession shows no signs of fading fast and good job, collar hollah-ing is set to stay around for at least another season.
Metal Collar Necklace: Topshop

A new breed of metallic collars have been popping up all over the shops. Its a collar but a necklace too #ingenious. My sister actually picked this up last week from Topshop, after deciding she was more of a silver jewellery kinda gal, I gots my paws all owa it. Isn't it cool?

Some others that have caught my beady eye on theirs (and h&m's) website:

Topshop and h&m

A post earlier in the week by Susie Lau got me thinking - where did the collar even come from? I urge you to read it.

This is the type of thing that keeps on feeding my hunger for fashion; curators' ability to identify a trend, nail it then experiment with endless amounts of shapes, cuts and materials to then nail it all over again.

NEW IN:
dresses.

Some recent acquisitions of mine that I have failed to photograph up until now.

This lace number was an absolute steal in the Topshop sale. Its by Jones + Jones, originally retailing at £65, I got it for a mere tenner. It did have those awful, sheer, billowy sleeves that are elasticated at the ends. Yeah I hate them so yeah I got rid.

I featured this in my latest wish list post. Admittedly, a bit cheeky, I had already bought it. Isn't it luscious though? My only qualm is that its slightly longer than my usual dress length so I do feel a bit ooh la ladylike. I'm wanting to pair it with this jacket and these bootiful booties.

I solemnly swear to stop being so lazy with outfit posts #badfashionblogger (I will do one tomorrow) and you will see these babies featured in their very own OOTD, WIW, LOTD very soon.

NEW IN:
a mixture.

As promised. Admittedly, this set is somewhat of a contradiction of itself - hot pants and a coat? Blame it on the equally contradictory British summer weather.

all about the spontane.

This was intended for my Saturday night task but I went out with the lasses instead. A few (two) recently made purchases. New Look are on top form lately. I gots me some more new things this week but will save it for (another) rainy day.
Top and chains: Topshop, Vintage Lewvi cut-offs, Shoes: New Look, Belt: F&F, Wannabe Alexa: Internacionale maybe?

I am frantically applying away for internships and writing competitions a plenty. If you haven't already I'd be immensely grateful if you would be so kind as to nominate me for this year's Cosmo Blog Awards (#CosmoBlogAwards), that's if you're a fan of my blog like. Are you dressing up or dressing down? comes under the "New Fashion Blog" catergory. THANK YOU.

p.s. NEW items added to both my ebay and blog shop.

down by the river (again).

Was forced to make this jazzy number mine yesterday after the arsey assistant refused to take back this skirt which had basically turned to shit in the wash. Good deed gesture, you say. Over it, it was a tenner and I had had my beady eye on it when it was full price. Everyone's a winner.

This is what I wore this evening >>>>
Jamie jeans, leather biker, 'WASPY' wedges, embellished tank: TOPSHOP

Awkward? Just a little bit. Can you tell I ain't done one of these in a while? Yes, hence the awkward face / stance / everything.

The head-to-toe TOPSHOP wasn't intentional- alreet sell out. My sister actually added the studs to pimp this standard staple. She bought 1000 pin-on studs for a couple of quid from eBay. Go try it.

In other news, I am employed. Get excited, nat. Who wants to work? Answer: no one. Such as life, a means to an end. The world ain't my oyster just yet, London will have to wait. Not unless anyone fancies offering me an editorial / journalist / writing / stylist postion on a plate? Long shot.

But seriously do ya?
