Eh, how did I not know about this beaut of brand until now? It remains one of life's many mysteries. The would-be love child of tba and pins&needles is the only description for this lady-like label. Sneaking under my unsuspecting radar, through chance, thanks to a blogging favourite you may already follow, I am now coveting thee whole lookbook archive, (see website 'collections').

A brand that was founded in Madrid, Spain, it has recently extended its fan base to, well, the entire world with the power of the internet and a début collab with ASOS. Feminine rebellion resounds through the marrying of genius, textural combinations (oh hi there, lace and sequins), forming the premise to said 'mini collection'. Pictures speak a thousand words so this is what I'm talking about..

Light-as-air blouses and dresses, accessorized with diamanté detailed, peter pan collars. I have nothing but love. The price range is so friggan reasonable too.

Having read up on the brand, it surfaces that they even have a concession in TOPSHOP's Oxford Street store. This 'mini collection' prides itself on pretty prints and the cutest ribbon details which you can also purchase from the site here.

I am amazed I wasn't told about this sooner.

Dropping off the radar seems to my thing recently. This time I'm blaming week long benders / goodbye duties / moving out of two houses.

Snap back to reality; I have officially reverted back to my seventeen year old self - no direction / no job / no dollar and stuck in the middle of a field with only sheep for company. Get in. This needs to change. London / Thailand calls.

I'm not huge on the whole laborious, over-rated affair that the festive season embodies itself as but the one thing I do still conform to is compiling a 'if I had all of you, I would be a very happy girl' list.

All I want for Christmas is all of you, pretty please. If you ask me. I reckon its pretty reasonable. Mammy may beg to differ.

TOP THREE: Pick of the Pack

The backpack/rucksack/knapsack - however you choose to name it, preaches more school nerd than super cool style icon. However, this ninetys trend is back with a vengeance; the number one neeky accessory has had a stylish reinvention thanks to the guys at Tory Burch. Backpacks now come in everything from leather and suede, to canvas and nylon, in earthy tones. A refreshing revival of the functional padded, clunky backpacks that I was forced adorn to as a child.

Totally unisex - another worthy passenger on the boyfriend bandwagon.

This is now the third post in the last month or so about my secret fetish tba, although its not really a secret.

You wouldn't be blamed for thinking tba is a French descent but in actual fact it launched and is based in our very own capital city, the big LDN.

Designer Binbin McNiven, a Brighton university graduate with a enviable designer history to her name including the late Alexander McQueen, she founded and debuted tba only last year with a stellar A/W '09 collection. Ever since, the label's signature look has evolved; playful meets sophistication. Equating to timeless, luxurious, perfection.

The label's aesthetic is increasingly accumulating a desirable reputation; accredited to its sixties play time working in perfect harmony with the touch of Edwardian sophistication.
The label's template of understated elegance is resounded through the entirety of the A/W '10 offerings.

The collection takes its inspiration from two feminist characters in the controversial (it was banned in native Czechoslovakia and director Vera Chytilová was forbidden to work until 1975), dadaist, film; Sedmikrasky ("Daisies") from the sixties.

In a nutshell, the film sees the girls deciding that, since the world is spoiled, they will be spoiled too. Cue the girls embarking on a quest of rebellion against the degenerate, decayed and oppressive society in which they live.

The direct inspiration for the collection contemplates how they might have dressed to attend an Edwardian children’s tea party.

Whimsical, pompoms prettify dresses and blouses, reflecting the childish, exuberant mantra of the girls.

Monchrome complements the chosen colour palette of carmel silk, velvet in the warmest of hues- burnt orange along with emerald and midnight blue. Colours and fabrics that all exude luxurious winter.

Tba's ladylike silk dresses and separates in bold blocks of colour are each finished with intricate final touches like the handmade reuleaux look collars on the velvet smocks or gold trim adornments on the mesh pom-pom dresses.

It’s not all sugar and spice and everything nice, however, as there are also tougher-looking, 'more showy' pieces such as the leather, pleated shorts in tan and a mushroom print silk, oversized tux jacket to match the pintuck dress and skirt of the same pattern.

The whole label has an antique yet, modern feel to it. This is illustrated in each of the A/W '10 pieces.

A lasting quality that transcends seasonal trends.

It is date night, it is innocent sweetheart, it is teenage rebel, it is spoilt princess, it is divine.

So aptly named; to be adored (by everyone), you certainly are.

Velvet seems to be the favourited fabric for their latest collection. How fitting for the chills the winter months bring. Teamed with your standard black tights and huge heels.

I can see one of these beauties earning its rightful place as a winter wardrobe staple.

SHE wears the trousers.

In the home, the work-place, your local pub; you name the environment the consensus remains; your male counterpart always holds the upper-hand and why? Well, in a nutshell it tracks back to the traditionalist ideals of eras previous; the stay-at-home mother who takes care of domestic duties while the father is out fulfilling his rightful responsibility as the bread-winner. Today though, the roles of males and females are increasingly reversing with the emancipation of women. The fashion industry has followed suit so why not contradict the stereotypes with a good old bit of power dressing this spring.

A real stylish advancement from the fancy leggings, jeggings and treggings that have occupied prize place in any girl’s wardrobe for so long, not that its a bad thing but summer is an appropriate time to debut a refreshing wardrobe update. Introduce yourself to the harem trouser; yes, despite the longevity of the drop crotch pant never looking particularly healthy they were all over the runways for this coming spring and now it looks like the high street have taken a particular fancy to the unconventional pant. Topshop’s collection comes up trumps and presents a palette of neutrals for a real timeless, versatile investment. Pair with a close fitting top or crop to create a small-over-big silhouette; play up the masculine tones with girly accessories such as a hair band or a cutesy locket. This will add a hint of tomboy chic whilst sustaining femininity. The key is to perfect proportions so pair with your biggest heels and cinch in your waist. Not only will this avoid clown-like comparisons but you’ll have the trend nailed down to a t.
 

The high-waisted trouser is still very much in style. Stay safe with something fitted or go bold with a dramatic coat. ASOS’s range is a must-see; team a pair of staple peg-legs with a crisp-white, mannish shirt and statement platforms; youthful and minimalist modern chic, it creates the perfect girl about town look.
 

Casual can be done too; a revival of a statement childhood piece, the dungaree makes a comeback this summer, arguably a new take on the boyfriend jean; as a wave of utility reaches the fashion shores. A real ‘love or hate’ item, they do have fashion charm beyond toddler domain especially when worn with a semi-sheer blouse or pretty camisole and neutral heels.
