COTW

Have I or have I not just coined a new bloggers acronym?
YEAH I HAVE.

To spell it out:

Collars

Of

The

Week

How many times have I vowed to photograph daily outfits? TOO MANY. You'd think my 7am WHAT THE FACK AM I GON WEAR outbursts would provide enough of an incentive but nah apparently not. I have married my obsession for aforementioned neck pieces with the accessibility of instagram to bring you a visual diary in collars. I wear a lorra 'em. NAR.

The luxury of mixing and matching makes the possibilities endless:
Shirts: white topshop crop, leather and sheer new look
Chains: Cinderela B and old topshop
Other: brick lane and BOY

This is probably the closest I'm gonna get to being a doting OOTD blogger innit.

Follow the rest of my week on Instagram @helenturnblad.

LFW: the wardrobe - day #2 or #3.

Its probably irrelevant on what day I wore this but here is one outfit that accompanied me to fashion week.
Leather skirt, peach tee, silverwear: h&m, denim jacket: vintage, shoes: new look, clutch: primark.

So many more photos to share with you but technology is failing me and I'm not in the mood to sort it out.

I covered the whole week with Notion magazine. If you care for what that entailed, click here.

leather leopard.

This is the resultant visual to the realisation that I'm spending today doing what I have occupied the main of my post-university hours with: mapping an escape route, booking meal tickets, promising myself prosperous (party) times lie ahead with the sporadic, gin-fuelled tomfoolery thrown in for good, sociable measure.

Making like the stereotypically vain, fashion blogger that I am and releasing intern application frustration unto that dslr of mine. Might as live up to something.
Shirt: charidee / old Warehouse, Skirt and Jumper: h&m, Bowler: TOPSHOP

Leather vs. leopard is a win-win ensemble. Obsessing over the two a little much often sees me mistaking one for the other i.e. this coat I'm selling - it has a LEOPARD collar, not a leather one as I have previously tweeted.

Bare with while a formulate a realistic life plan.

untitled.

A non-LFW, related post, woo hoo. What's occurring? Nothing, frankly.

As I have said before, this longer length deal is a new thing for me but its a grower. I never cottoned on to the whole maxi dresses and midi skirt trends (I blame my lack of a six ft model's bod) so this is the perfect compromise. Am so totally obsessed with this colour: lipsticks, creepers, boaters....
Dress: New Look
Forgive me for the bathroom photos, ultimate pet hate.

I need a hair cut and a new facial expression.

I am currently struggling to compile an AW, staple wardrobe set. Why is it that when I am so totally bankrupt, I want everything. As soon as I'm not, nothing appeals. Anyone with me on that?

I do have a few things to show you though from a rare spending party, this week. In due course.

I am off to Manchester for a few.

Toodle pip.

LFW: the outfits.

I know you have all been sitting patiently, with bated breath, during my fashion week hiatus, for this very moment. What the foe did I wear? Three shirts and two kinds of leather bottoms, pretty much.

ONE. New Look Shirt, h&m, leather skirt.
TWO. Primark, sheer, snakeskin print shirt, h&m, leather skirt.
THREE & FOUR. Shirt, as above, h&m sheer shirt, Topshop, leather leggings.

It's a wrap guys; the LFW party is officially over.

I should probably go find out what's been going on in the real world.

the calm before the storm.

I snapped these earlier today when I was parading down my hall way like the wannabe catwalk model that I am, helplessly putting together my LFW wardrobe. I received confirmation of my press pass late Friday night which spurred me on to get my ass in gear. I think I am halfway there. Still, if anyone fancies sponsoring my appearances at fashion week- drop me an email. Philip Green, non? Long shot.
Coat and skinny trousers: TOPSHOP, Shirt and ring: h&m, Vans

Nails inspired by Stevie.

I will be there with bells on from Sunday (day 3) until the grand finale on Wednesday (day 6). Who will be there? Any recommendations? I am beyond overwhelmed at all the goings-on. Areet fashion week virgin.

head-to-toe h&m.

Having bummed around in vans, American Apparell hoodies and alternating my bottom half between Levi cut-offs and Topshop Pippa skinnies, I decided to make an effort today. I have also had a hair cut since I last did one of these, yeah I have.

The title is a trick as its not one hundred per cent valid- I wore shoes from New Look but its a decent effort if I do say so myself. I've always found h&m hit and miss - some seasons they get right on it, others their collections just seem a bit.. off. Do you know what I'm saying? Or is that just me?

I take that all back for AW11. I walked in the other day and picked out an entire outfit in just twenty minutes, all for fifty squids. I could've bought many more things but I refrained.
Everything: h&m bar collar necklace: TOPSHOP

I have wanted this leather skirt since discovering it on fashiolista (great site, check it out) and this lace top? Well it echoes Miss Chung's Madewell number dont it?

Here are my favourite items from their AW11 press day preview to whet your appetites.

Big h&m love.

all about the spontane.

This was intended for my Saturday night task but I went out with the lasses instead. A few (two) recently made purchases. New Look are on top form lately. I gots me some more new things this week but will save it for (another) rainy day.
Top and chains: Topshop, Vintage Lewvi cut-offs, Shoes: New Look, Belt: F&F, Wannabe Alexa: Internacionale maybe?

I am frantically applying away for internships and writing competitions a plenty. If you haven't already I'd be immensely grateful if you would be so kind as to nominate me for this year's Cosmo Blog Awards (#CosmoBlogAwards), that's if you're a fan of my blog like. Are you dressing up or dressing down? comes under the "New Fashion Blog" catergory. THANK YOU.

savvy gig.

Saturday morning I awoke to a pretty sweet email from the street savvy team, asking if I was interested in becoming their fashion blogger. Yes please. It was exactly the boost I needed and it went a long way to sending my hideous hangover on his jolly way.

That is my latest crack. I am pretty buzzing about it. Especially, as it comes at a time when I am being pestered to get a real job. I don't know what exactly it'll entail but I'm thinking more of the kind of thing you see on this very page. I am all for original content so hopefully I will be posting some brand new spanking stuff on their site, on the regular. Keep your eyes peeled is all I am saying. The fashion editor dream is very much alive and kicking.THANK YOU.

Enough of that, here are some snippets of what I wore today. Black in August, I know.

home coming.

Soooo then, I am home until the forseeable. That being until I conjure up some cushtee life plan for myself. Not happening right now. Might as well embrace it. Here is proof that I live in an actual field and a sneak peak of my work in progress bedroom.

Some outfit shots too. My wardrobe needs therapy. I have lost a lot of enthusiasm for clothes and shopping. I have a feeling this may have something to do with many a week of unfruitful missions desperately trying to magic something from the high street for all sorts of occasions. Hence an improvisation on the last one.

Embellished tank and bag: Topshop, Levi cut-offs: Camden, Tapestry shoes: New Look

It has been a lush day.
